Troop 83 is chartered by the First United Methodist Church of Fort Collins, Colorado. We meet every Monday, except holidays, in the church's fellowship hall from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Our troop is a boy-lead, adult-facilitated organization. That means the boys decide what they will do and plan the activity. Adults help with the necessary logistics. Scouts learn how to plan campouts, buy food, setup camp, prepare meals and acquire many other outdoor skills with lifetime value.
For our annual fundraiser, we sell Christmas trees. Boys may also choose to sell popcorn individually. Funds earned become credits for each boy in a scout account. Scouts use these accounts to pay for outing expenses, summer camp or other scouting related expenses.
